Hi Steven
I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for your e-book. I am at a turning point in my career - going from an FTE to contract PM & found your words very soothing. I have an offer on the table for a contract PM at a bank (in Canada). I've been working for 11 years now - in internet media (at newspapers, TV stations - all on their websites) & am ready for a change. I guess the market here is pretty good, so I didn't struggle to find a job for too long (this time!) - but really appreciated your words on what happens AFTER you get the job! And of course, the idea of continuing education (I have my PMP and an undergrad in Business) trying to figure out what's next.
I'm a bit nervous as I embark on this new stage! I'm used to being a very valuable employee - I feel the world of contract PM's will be flooded with overachievers & I am not used to this type of competition! But I'm also excited to start - I am definitely more entrepreneurial than most of my friends/co-workers & I think this will be a great fit for my lifestyle.
Ha! My whole email was about myself - I should pay you for therapy!
I just want to let you know that your words have been very helpful so far & I foresee myself going back to your eBook often. I really needed to read what you wrote - and the best part is that most of it echo's the things I'm thinking/doing on my own. It’s reassuring to read words written by a like-minded professional.
